The Lovers, The Dreamers And Me

My Vision Of An Ideal Band - We try our best to leave our egos at the door, we let each others instruments shine, we rehearse as if it's our oxygen, we write in the same mind set. We view music as a way to use our voice, energy, emotions, and understand that we are doing this for history and the pure satisfaction music brings us all. We do care about popularity, however we're always aware of our vision and surroundings. We have day jobs (or do we?) or some financial means to help fund our craft and our journey equally. We are role models, we are engineers, we are historians, we are the cure, we are the dance, we are the therapist, we are what many people can only hear, yet may never understand. We are musicians. We play music to survive, no matter how much or little fame or fortune it brings us, our music is what makes us...us; it's what we do best. We have fun, we respect each other, we're a family with flaws and do our best to understand our individual flaws. We understand that music is complex, but we're always trying to understand what it is exactly. It keeps us guessing, challenged, fighting, wanting more and in tune with a world that is equally complex. Okay, enough with the vision! The best way to understand my vision is spend time with me. So if you like my vision and are interested in making music, then choose your instrument below let me know your side of an ideal band situation.

Genre - Anything goes with me, but I always find myself connecting to an indie genre. I am open to play anything that we all agree on, as long as we put our hearts into it for the right reasons.

Age - Doesn't matter to me, but ideally you have grown up to understand yourself and who you are. Remember that a band needs to bond often to grow, therefore we would need to be able to relate to each other on some kind of age level.

Gender/Race/Religion - I live in the heart of New York City. All I see are people - labeling them is not important to me. You should be as open minded as I am.

Currently Seeking

Drummer - Since this has been a solo project for so many years, I've been locked away inside with a click track and an idea. I've been using drum samples, midi drums, drum replacements, buckets, cans, change, anything that can keep a rhythm and accompany the song. However there is one thing I've always noticed about all of my songs and that is the lack of energy. I strongly believe adding a real live drummer would solve this problem. The limiting factor is space, neighbors, and recording quality. I get a decent sound from my digital drumming techniques, but I don't have the chops I'd like, and again, I don't have the energy. I have no idea what I am after in a drummer, if you like my sound and see where you could help shape it, please contact me.

Keyboard / Pianist - You should feel quite special knowing that I rely on a keyboard or piano part in almost every song I write; you will be most definitely needed and appreciated for your musical contributions on this project. Your sound creates the "wall of sound" it's one of the most dynamic instruments out there and it has endless amounts of sound and inspiration that carries the song through a voyage of emotion. If you like my sound and hear where you "fit in" please contact me.

Bass - You already know how awesome you are, right?! It's safe to assume that you will most likely not like a majority of my songs. Sadly I don't spend too much time on the bass parts, I know I should, but typically don't. This is why I am looking for you and your bottom end skill set. You know how to leave space as well as understand how to fill it up throughout the mix. If you like my sound and hear where you "fit in" please contact me.

Guitarist - You know the terms "shred", "pluck", "slide", "pick" - of course you know these! You're qualified already! Well, since I play guitar, but I've never had a lesson I'm afraid I have no idea what I am after with a guitarist. All I know is that you will have to chose the right or left channel to play in. You should also understand delay's, reverb space, and other effects that fatten up your sound. Ideally I am looking for someone to play higher notes and other parts other than what I generally play, bar chords in the lower range.

Female Vocalist - I cannot hit the notes you can....yes of course you're amazing...but I mean, It's not possible for a man to reach the same frequencies as a lady. I like dynamics, so be our musical wave and come swell your vocal ocean with us.

Violin - TBD
